Getting the best result
- Lead with race, class and one distinguishing feature. "A half-orc paladin with a scarred jaw and silver-inlaid armour" produces a character; "a fantasy warrior" produces a stock image.
- Name the art tradition — oil painting, ink and watercolour, character sheet illustration. It changes the result more than any amount of detail about the character.
- Generate portraits at portrait ratio and locations at landscape. It sounds obvious and it is the most common mistake.
