Getting the best result
- Only on images you own or are licensed to use. This is a rights question before it is a technical one.
- Small corner marks reconstruct almost perfectly. Large tiled watermarks across the whole frame are the hard case.
- A mark over flat background comes back cleanly; a mark over a face or fine text is where reconstruction shows.
- Check the recovered area at full size — a watermark removal that looks fine at thumbnail size often does not at 100%.

Frequently asked questions
Is it legal to remove a watermark?
Only on images you own or are licensed to use. A watermark is there to protect a creator, and stripping one from someone else’s work is copyright infringement. Use this on your own photos, licensed stock, or images where you hold the rights.
Will it leave a smudge where the watermark was?
It reconstructs the area rather than blurring it, so flat backgrounds come back cleanly. Watermarks laid over fine detail — text, faces, patterned fabric — are the hardest case and may need a second pass.
Does it work on large diagonal watermarks?
Yes. Tiled and diagonal marks covering most of the frame take longer and lose more fine detail than a small corner logo, but the reconstruction still runs across the whole image.
